Turning 50 is a giant milestone for anybody. However for Mary J. Blige, this birthday was particularly significant. The nine-time Grammy winner defined why through the Feb. 23 episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
“When it hit at 12 o’clock that evening, I simply cried like a child as a result of I made it,” she stated. “I have been by means of hell in my life. And to make it to 50, it was simply lovely.”
Blige, who turned 50 in January, not too long ago mirrored on her journey whereas listening to a few of her early hits amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
“I actually do not prefer to hearken to even the sound of my talking voice, not to mention hear again to Mary J. Blige,” she defined. “However I’ve grown a lot, , in confidence that through the quarantine, I do not know, simply one thing simply stated, ‘Take heed to some Mary J. Blige.’ And I did. I felt like an outdoor particular person doing it.”
