Getting inked is Joseph’s specialty. The skill of the tattoo artist will make or break the tattoo. When you get a tattoo in Austin, I’ll make sure it’s something that you’ll be happy with forever.

We don’t accept regrets here.

And we won’t work on your tattoo if you’re not sober.

Working in Onyx Studio, I can tell you that we’re the best tattoo shop in Austin, Texas. We have the southern charm and badass art skills to go with it. Our goal is to offer an unforgettable experience with an atmosphere that is:

  • Relaxed
  • Delectable

We even take walk-ins.

BUT we don’t offer piercing services. It’s not our thing. We focus on what we do best at Onyx Studio, and that’s tattoos.

A Bit About Joseph’s Life

I was born and raised in Southern California. The days were long and hot, and it was a time when everyone spent their days outside. When not getting in trouble, I found a major passion in graffiti street art.

The colors, styles and vibe of graffiti led to my passion for tattoos.

My style is heavily influenced by the Chicano style, and I’m a master of black and grey tattoos, along with fine line tats.

If you choose to work with me for your tattoo in Austin, I can promise you that I’ll do everything in my power to make this the best tattoo experience you’ve ever had.

You’ll find me at the Onyx Studio tattoo shop in Austin if you want to personally discuss your tattoo, or you can always reach out to me via email to discuss your project: [email protected].

In fact, let’s make this process as easy as possible for you.

I’ve listed a bunch of common questions that I receive from clients below so that you can begin booking your tattoo appointment as soon as possible.

FAQ When Working with the Onyx Studio Tattoo in Austin

How Long Are You Booked Out?

Typically, I am booked out for months in advance. However, I do offer a fast-track option that allows clients that want to get their tattoo in Austin done ASAP. The option comes at a premium price. The fast-track option doesn’t impact the wait time of your tattoo because it’s built into my schedule.

During the consultation, I’ll discuss how long it will be before you can sit in the chair at our tattoo shop in Austin to have your tat done.

Making an appointment is easy. Your first appointment will be your consultation. I ask that you send me an email with the following information:

  • Name
  • Phone number
  • Email address
  • Specifics about the tattoo that you want

If you can attach any references for the tattoo that you would like and a description, that would be a lot easier for me to review and determine if this is a tattoo that I will be able to create. I’ll reply back with a link to my appointment calendar ASAP.

You can call (512)553-6024 to book an appointment or email Joseph directly at: [email protected].

During the consultation, we’ll discuss all of the specifics of your project. No two projects or people are the same, so the consultation allows me to determine:

  • Whether your project is a good fit for me, or if I’m a good fit for you
  • The cost and length of the project
  • When we can get started

We’ll talk design and your goals for your tat. Our consultation is also a great opportunity to ask any questions you have about the process.

Do You Require a Deposit?

Yes. Giving a deposit shows that you’re committed to your project and your appointments. If you must reschedule your appointment, you must provide 48-hour notice. If you’re running late, call our tattoo shop in Austin and let us know.

Your deposit is good for up to 12 months. If you fail to show up for appointments, you risk losing your deposit.

A deposit is a safeguard for me and the studio. We block out time for our appointments. Failure to show up means lost time and money.

Your deposit is a show of good faith that you will show up to your appointments on time. It cannot be refunded, nor can it be transferred to someone else.

If you’re a no-show for your appointment, you’ll lose your deposit, and you’ll need to put down another one to continue your appointments.

Can You Rework Designs or Do Cover-ups?

No. Right now, I do not do cover-ups or reworks. I prefer to work on new projects where I have more artistic freedom.

How Much Will My Tat Cost?

There are several things that need to be considered when pricing a tattoo, including the size, design, placement and skin.

Will You Take on Smaller Projects?

Yes, within reason. Smaller projects can be slotted into my schedule, and this is something we’ll need to discuss further in person. I love working with fine lines, and if it’s a design I think will push my artistic limit and I can make work, let’s do it.

However, you will need to get in touch with me at the Onyx tattoo shop in Austin to discuss the details a bit further.

Definitely. If you supply me with a few references to go off of or a general idea of the design that you want done, I’ll work my magic for you. Artistic freedom means a lot to me when sketching out these designs, but I also want to know more about your vision for your tattoo.

Together, we’ll create a tattoo design that you’ll be proud of every day.

How Long Will the Tattoo Take to Finish?

It’s impossible to tell without specifics about the tattoo that you want. Size and intricate details can take multiple sessions, but I can often knock out a small tattoo in Austin in a single session. We’ll discuss all of this together during your consultation.
