Care for Your Newly Hydroseeded Lawn

Jan 11

After your grass has received hydroseeding CT the real work begins. You'll have to give your newly hydroseeded lawn a bit of TLC.

What can I do to get the most benefit from hydroseeding?

  • Hydroseed is best watered three times per day for 10-20 minutes at each.

  • In 2-7 days In 2-7 days, the color of the green will fade.

  • The watering time should be between 4:00 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. (Remember to take a bath after dark).

  • You can alter the amount of water you use depending on the weather and the time of year. You should water more often and over longer periods of time. You may also apply less frequent watering during autumn months that are cooler, as well as for shorter lengths.

  • In order to germinate properly, Hydroseeds must be kept in a moist environment. Hydroseeds don't need to be constantly saturated.

  • DO NOT leave pools of water on your lawn; instead, ensure that the seeds remain damp and moist all the time. After about 4-6 weeks, you can begin to reduce the amount of watering that you need to do at your leisure.

HYDROSEEDING CT MAINTENANCE & CARE:

How can you keep your hydro seeds?

In the event of germination that is adequate, it is possible to see germination begin in some locations within 10-14 days, and a lawn will be ready to be mowed within 6-8 weeks. In the period of 6-9 months, the lawn will have developed fully.

For the first six weeks, you should avoid driving in areas that have been seeded.

Some areas will do better than others due to differing amounts of sunshade, water, and water. This is common for any application or hydroseed. When your lawn starts to get full after 4 to 5 weeks, it's an ideal idea to scrape the thin spots and seed some of them manually to encourage growth. To get the best results, mix fescue, rye, and Kentucky bluegrass.

It is strongly recommended to apply an 18-24-12 start fertilizer to your lawn following it is hydroseeded. An additional application of the fertilizer is possible to apply three weeks after that application. For the first 10-12 weeks, you should not apply any weed killers on the lawn.

You might find weeds on your lawn. When the grass has matured, you can use a weed control fertilizer in order to remove the weeds.

The first mowing of the lawn will occur approximately five weeks after it has been hydroseeded. To avoid causing damage to the newly planted seedlings it is advised that you mow your grass when it's dry and with the help of a push mower. The soil should dry completely before beginning to mow. The clippings are to be left on the lawn but clumps must not be left on the lawn since they will harm the new seed.

Beware of allowing your lawn to increase in height to an excessive level. Then, you must cut the grass back to a reasonable height. This can damage the grass and make it harder to restore its original condition. You can hire someone to mow your lawn when you're on holiday or don't have the time to mow your lawn for more than one week. Do not mow your lawn over 1/3 of its length in a single mowing. If your lawn has grown too tall and has become a mess, you must wait for at least 4-5 days prior to mowing it down to a height of about 3".

If your Hydroseeding CT is washed out because of rain or other conditions We will regenerate the area at a fraction of the cost originally incurred.
